INSPIRED BY THE "GENTLEMAN SURFER", BYRD PRODUCTS HARKEN BACK TO AN ERA WHEN GROOMING WAS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF ONE'S DAILY ROUTINE WITH A NOD TO CLASSIC 60'S SURF CULTURE.

At BYRD, we draw a ton of inspiration from Californian culture and the surfing lifestyle of the ‘50s and ‘60s. Growing up in Newport Beach, surfing has always been a huge part of my life.
And as a surfer, there’s nothing I know better than sun, salt and surf. Which also happen to be the three key ingredients for healthy hair and skin. That’s why we use them in our products.
We come up with all of our product ideas here at the BYRD’s Nest in sunny Newport Beach, California. This is where we eat, sleep, surf and stay slick. Inspired by the gentleman surfer, we don't let our lifestyle get in the way; we let it pave the way.

Why BYRD?

My old Newport surf team used to call me Big Bird, and I guess the nickname stuck.

What’s our secret?

Without giving too much away, BYRD’s original formulas are a balance of tried and true performance-based ingredients and natural extracts, all produced in a solar powered facility right here in California.

What’s the BYRD’s Nest?

From our HQ on Main Street in Newport Beach, we run a pretty tight—or loose—ship, depending on how you look at it. During business hours, we operate as a creative hub where we continue to develop new products and ideas for the brand. On the weekend, we like to throw parties like Slick Saturday’s, where we invite the whole neighborhood over to eat, drink, and have a good time. And if you’re looking for the best haircut this side of California, we give those every day at the Byrd’s Nest barbershop.
Speaking of barbershops, I actually came to find out that my great grandfather was a barber who had his own shop at the old Metropole hotel in Fargo, North Dakota, back in the day. I guess you could say grooming is in my DNA.
